Practice Schedule

FIRST PRACTICE IS TUESDAY JUNE 7^th (This is a change!)

Monday – Wednesday – Friday – 6:30 – 8:00pm @ YMCA

Tuesday – Wednesday – Thursday – 8:30 – 10:00am @ Blairmont

We had 5 swimmers in the am session and we posted some best times.  Connor Mckeirnan and Chris Bush both swam solid 100 freestyles, both of them posting best times.  Shannon Campbell and Kara Vyborny both got their first district experience swimming the 50 back at a 40.33 and a 42.53.  Shani Evans qualified in the 50 freestyle (31.18) and the 50 breast (43.31); both personal best times.

We’re off to a good start!  This morning was the 13-14 session for districts and we were represented by Max Geringher and Casey Holliday.  3 out of their 4 swims were personal best times.  Max dropped over a second in his 100 Butterfly (1:06.80) and was just off his personal best in his 100 backstroke.  Casey shedded .75 second off of her 50 freestyle swimming a 26.61 and took almost a second off of her 100 breaststroke clocking a 1:15.97.  She placed 6th in the 50 and 12th in her breaststroke moving her on to State in both events.  Great swims for both of you!  Congratulations!

Our team that we sent to Novice Championships performed beautifully!  We represented the 8 year old girls champion in Carly Finochio and the 9 year old boys champion, Connor Mckeirnan.  On top of that our team won the meet!  Congratulations everyone!  At B districts Megan Varney and Sarafina Huckabee-Milburn swam a combined 9 events and produced 9 personal best times!  In addition Sarafina placed 4th in her 100 FS and 5th in the 50 FS.  Megan won the 200IM, 100 FS, 50 BR and the 50 FS; she posted district qualifying times in both the 200 IM and 50 FS.  Combined they dropped over 20 seconds.  Congratulation girls!  Nice job everyone!

Championships are this weekend up at Juniata Valley (Directions).  Warm ups will be at 7:30 for us and the first session will start at 8:45.  The second session will start as soon as the second session is done (but not before 11:00).  We will be in the second warm up of the second session so our afternoon group will warm up at 11:30 at the earliest.  Plan on 11:30     Make sure all of you are eating and sleeping well this week; ALL WEEK.  Which includes Friday night!  Stay focused this week and let’s go after it on Saturday.

There are sign up sheets for the Novice Championships and B-Districts under FORMS.  Please look at these and consider attending, we are looking for a good showing at each meet.  We’ve worked hard all season and this is a great last shot at making improvements for this year.
